Mohawk is looking for a talented and energetic product engineer. This person will work with the engineering manager to develop new parts and improve existing parts.

Job Function
Responsible for the design, development, & implementation of aftermarket components for the transit industry.
Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations
- Reverse engineer component parts and assemblies from initial design & prototyping stages through manufacturing and final approval.
- Perform competitive part analysis.
- Use 3-D CAD system to create new product designs and modify existing products.
- Prepare detailed component part & assembly drawings of new & existing products.
- Work with sourcing and vendors on a regular basis to identify cost effective solutions for new and existing parts.
- Work with quality to ensure all incoming parts conform to part specifications.
- Perform product testing as required.
- Implement “value added” solutions to customer problems and new part designs.
- Support sales team by creating technical sales literature and product information sheets.
- Communicate with all cross-functional teams, vendors and customers.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of all Mohawk products, policies, and procedures.
- Attend appropriate departmental and/or company meetings of updates and discussion of any relevant problems.
Working Conditions
Normal office environment with minimal exposure to dust, noise, etc. Extended CRT viewing and keyboard use.
Skills
- High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult.
- Proactively utilize strong problem-solving skills in order to deliver customer focused solutions.
- Must be flexible to be able to support the changing priorities and needs.
- Multitask effectively and attention to detail critical.

Specific Knowledge
- BS Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering Degree or Technical related degree.
- Experience in an automotive manufacturing environment and transit experience a plus.
- Knowledge of common manufacturing processes and assembly operations helpful.
- Understanding of SAE automotive standards.
- Highly proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and testing results.
- Proficient use of SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

NILES, Ill. (October 20, 2011) — Mohawk Mfg. & Supply Co. proudly welcomed Roger Hristovski to its team today, appointing him Canadian Sales Manager, effective immediately.
Hristovski will have sales responsibilities for all of Canada, marketing Mohawk’s full line of products and services from coast to coast to coast.
“I am excited to have joined the Mohawk family in this capacity to serve the Canadian marketplace,” Hristovski said. “Mohawk’s sales and customer service team is second-to-none in this industry, and I am honoured to be part of this group. Roger brings a wealth of transportation-related experience to Mohawk. Having worked in various capacities ranging from marketing, sales, customer program management, and operations with a leading transit bus manufacturer in North America, he has far-reaching expertise that Mohawk is proud to have gained. Roger attended the University of Manitoba, earning a Bachelor of Commerce – Honours degree with majors in Marketing and Finance.
“Roger has earned a great deal of respect throughout the industry,” Mohawk President John W. Brown said. “His knowledge of the Canadian and North American markets, his customer-centric philosophy and his technical expertise will help us deliver on our commitment to our Canadian customers.”
Roger and his wife are lifetime residents of Manitoba and enjoy supporting the community in which they live. He enjoys outdoor activities including fishing, camping, outdoor sporting events, and snowmobiling. He has served the local snowmobile club as an executive since 2006.

Job Function
Responsible for leading a small team through multiple purchasing projects with a high sense of urgency and delivering superior quality performance.
Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations
- Initiate, direct, supervise and control purchasing projects.
- Manage purchasing department, assign and evaluate responsibilities according to appropriate position.
- Implement cost reduction initiatives.
- Coordinate with bidding and contracts department time sensitive pricing and strict deadlines.
- Issue purchase agreements, purchase orders, and blanket orders within Mohawk’s purchasing policy.
- Negotiate discounts and/or rebates with vendors.
- Update department heads on current developments and future projects.
- Manage purchasing research and development
- Review bid history of non-stocking and non-inventory items to be procured.
- Work with Engineering Manager to identify the profitability and manufacturability of prospective items.
- Determine final disposition of obtained samples to be OEM sourced or manufactured.
- Inventory management
- Review non-profitable inventory and determine end of life of item or re-source for better margin.
- Maintain minimum and maximum inventory levels.
- Review open contracts and ensure minimum availability.
- Monitor increased usage of non-stocking items.
- Monitor OEM’s for superseded and obsolete items.
- Ensure up to date pricing and lead times.
- Evaluate current and future suppliers.
- Re-source, develop and maintain relationships with OEM supply chain.
- Preserve and expand vendor base relationships for Mohawk brand product.
- Evaluate all suppliers based on quality, delivery and pricing.
- Travel to vendors for onsite inspection, qualification and capabilities.
- Serve as primary purchasing communication contact for all cross-functional teams, vendors and customers.
- Attend appropriate departmental and/or company meetings of updates and discussion of any relevant problems.

Specific Knowledge
- Undergraduate degree, technical related degree or equal experience in purchasing.
- 7+ years of experience as a leader in a purchasing department with an automotive manufacturing environment required, transit experience a plus.

- Global knowledge of suppliers and international markets.
- Experience in global vendor negotiations and emerging economies.
- Continuous quality evaluation of offshore manufactures.
- Research and evaluate importers and exporters for rates, fees and delivery.
- Highly proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and testing results.
- Familiarity with basic machine types, design build and test services.
- Knowledge of estimating and quoting business.
- Able to attain and maintain thorough knowledge of all Mohawk products, policies, and procedures.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of word processing, spread sheets and search engines.
